I had a top ranked key phrase on google for a Medium.com article bringing 1000+ organic searches per day. Two days ago, someone copied my story and pasted into their website 2 days ago. Not only do they now have the number 1 search results, my article is buried!
How the hell did they do this and is there a way to protect myself in the future (other than applying for copyright removal)?
